Luke 2:14:
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will
toward men."
Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, but for most people
it is a time of stress, wondering what to get people for Christmas, and
busyness.
Here are some facts about the holiday season which go to show how
much people care about it and how less the care about what it is really
about.
Every year, about 900 billion dollars are spent in America for gifts, and
2.3 million pounds of wrapping paper and over 30,000 miles of ribbon is used
to wrap them. The amount of paper used to make Christmas cards could fill
a football field with paper stalked 10 stories high.
These facts go to show how much people are focusing on worldly thing
and not the birth of Jesus.
Christmas is also a time of stress for most Americans because of all the
shopping, cooking, and preparation for Christmas. That is why I included
Luke 2:14. Christmas shouldn’t be a time of stress for us. It should be a time
where we can think of the birth of Jesus and what he did for us on the cross.
