Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Most people are familiar with this passage of the bible in some way or another. Galatians 5:22-23 tells of nine character traits a godly person should have. The first one, love, is probably the most important, because if you love others, you will most likely have the other eight.
Romans 12:10
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Love is an action. If we truly love others, we will put their needs over ours. No one is perfect in this area, but we must do the best that we can. As always, Jesus is the perfect example of this. He loved us so much, that he died for us.
John15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
That is really amazing to think about, Jesus, who was perfect, paid for the sins of everyone in the world!
Romans 5:6-8
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
